About the PDF to JPG converter
Turning a page into an image is what you need when something will not accept a PDF — a social post, a forum, a slide, an email that must display inline.
Each page is rendered exactly as a reader would draw it, at whatever resolution you ask for.
Choosing a width
The width you set drives the resolution; height follows the page proportions. 1400px is comfortable for reading on screen. For printing or zooming into detail, 2500px or more is better — an A4 page at 300 dpi is about 2480px wide.
Larger widths take longer and use considerably more memory, since every page is drawn at full size before being encoded.
One page or many
Selecting a single page gives you the image directly. Selecting several returns a zip, because a browser can only hand you one file at a time — the pages inside are numbered so they keep their order.
JPG or PNG
JPG suits pages that are mostly photographs or scans, and produces much smaller files. Pages of text and diagrams do better as PNG, where sharp edges stay sharp instead of picking up compression artefacts around the letters.
Frequently asked questions
Will the text still be selectable?
No. An image is pixels, so the text becomes part of the picture. Use PDF to Text if you need the words.
Why did I get a zip?
Because you selected more than one page. Browsers cannot deliver several files from one action, so they are packed together.
What about password-protected PDFs?
They cannot be opened. Remove the password in your PDF reader first — this tool does not attempt to bypass or guess protection.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The document is opened, rewritten and saved entirely in your browser. That matters here more than most places, since PDFs are so often contracts, statements and medical records.
